Suzanne is a dynamic occupational therapist with a passion for early childhood development.
She is currently furthering her studies to obtain her Master’s degree in Child Life and Paediatric Psychosocial Care through The University of the Witwatersrand. Suzanne is also Makaton trained, and has experience working with children with communication difficulties. She has completed her training in hippotherapy (therapy with the use of horses), and we are hoping to start up this leg in the practice soon!
Suzanne has experience working with children with developmental delays, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, and autism spectrum disorder.
Suzanne’s goals for therapy include making therapy part of the child’s everyday life, not only practical but also fun and integrated into each child’s individual routine. She believes in a holistic approach to each child’s needs and is passionate about collaborating with other team members – including teachers, physiotherapists, speech therapists, play therapists, paediatricians, neurologists, and psychiatrists. Suzanne is approachable and adaptable, and she believes in working together to set and achieve goals for each child.
Her services are offered in both Afrikaans and English, and Suzanne is based at our practices in Robindale and at Laerskool Fontainebleau, as well as a number of schools in Randburg.
